Efficient accessibility needs both

So you have invested in sophisticated accessibility checks. Yay and congratulations!! It’s a brilliant way to check broadly for many common gaps. But is that enough?

Digital accessibility has never been more visible — or more misunderstood. Organisations are investing in automated testing tools, design teams are learning WCAG basics, and procurement teams are asking tougher questions.

Yet despite all this progress, accessibility issues continue to slip through the cracks. According to the 2026 WebAIM Million report on accessibility of the top 1 million home pages there were more than 56 errors per page, “the number of detected errors increased 10.1% [to some 56 errors per page] since the 2025 analysis”.
