Ask the Professionals

  • OZeWAI Ask the Professionals session – 23 September 2026 – Accessibility careers, recruitment and mentoring.
    • Jaunita Flessas (IAAP, W3C, Empower Accessibility, OZeWAI) moderates a panel featuring Rachael Bradley Montgomery (Library of Congress, W3C, Mutua11y), Sheri Byrne-Haber (IAAP, W3C, Access*Ability), and Amanda Mace (W3C, GrackleDocs, OZeWAI).
      This session is based on common questions received from our topic survey. How to build a career as an accessibility specialist, where to get mentoring and support, and what aspects of recruitment employers can consider in their job ads and processes.
  • OZeWAI Ask the Professionals session – 15 October 2026 – WCAG Success Criteria and Conformance.

    • Gian Wild (AccessibilityOz) moderates a panel featuring Patrick Lauke (TetraLogical), Eric Eggert (Web Accessibility Specialist), and Sarah Pulis (Intopia).

      • We’re privileged to have a panel and moderator who are genuine experts on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, including the tricky ones and the ones that people frequently misinterpret or misunderstand.
      If you find WCAG confusing or unclear, this is the session for you. The question is, will our expert panel agree? Bring your popcorn and be prepared to chuck a few curly questions.

  • OZeWAI Ask the Professionals session – 20 June 2025 – For love of A11y: A look into local accessibility groups
    • OZeWAI Committee member Ricky Onsman moderated a panel featuring representatives of five Australian meetups that focus on digital accessibility and inclusion: Adem Cifcioglu (Melbourne), Amanda Mace (Perth), Brigitta Norton (Canberra), Charissa Ramirez (Sydney) and Rosie Putland (Hobart).The aim of this Ask the Professionals session is to explore what the role of meetups is these days, what formats they take, how they attract participants, and what their future holds, and the support OZeWAI can provide.
  • Accessibility and Content Management Systems – 2 May 2025
