I had the honour of hosting the March Accessibility Book Club online meeting (6am 1 April my time, no fooling) with Lisa Riemers and Matisse Hamel-Nelis, co-authors of Accessible Communications.
These sessions are always interesting and this was no exception, getting insights on how the book came together, what it was like co-authoring across the Atlantic, and what they were trying to achieve with the book.
It’s always easier when the book is good, of course, and this one is great, focusing not just on web and app content but all kinds of digital communication. Somehow, Lisa and Matisse have managed to cover such a broad scope with a great deal of practical detail while still coming up with a very readable book of reasonable length. I know I’ll be referring to it regularly.

The Accesibility Book Club has been amazingly successful, now with more than 3,200 members. Each month we discuss a book (analogue, digital, or both) that focuses on accessibility or disability. The great advantage of being online is that authors can join us for Q&A with our attendees, and they’ve been very willing!
