Andrew Normand Wins Accessibility in Action Award

Andrew NormandWe congratulate OZeWAI Committee member Andrew Normand on being recgonised for his “exceptional efforts in championing accessibility” with an ADCET 2023 Accessibility in Action Award.

These awards recognise individuals, project teams, and initiatives that have made a significant contribution to advancing accessibility and promoting inclusive practices in education and training and are held annually in line with Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD).

Andrew is the Web Accessibility Lead at Melbourne University, located within the University’s IT Department, and is described as “is an early adopter and sector leader on the principles of accessible ICT procurement in Higher Education and was an instrumental part of the advisory group that created the Accessible ICT Procurement Guide for Australian Universities“.

Andrew has been an active and valued member of OZeWAI for many years and has been involved with projects such as the current OZeWAI sub-committee on procurement.

ADCET is the Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training, Australia’s leading resource on disability in tertiary education for disability practitioners, educators, and students.
