Today, 15 May 2025, marks the 14th annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)—a global initiative dedicated to promoting digital accessibility and inclusion for more than one billion people living with disability worldwide. GAAD serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of equitable access to digital information and experiences for all.
In honour of GAAD, we’re proud to support the Centre for Accessibility Australia as a Community sponsor in announcing the opening of nominations for the 2025 Australian Access Awards, taking place this November.
These national Awards celebrate individuals and organisations across Australia that are leading the way in digital accessibility — recognising innovation, advocacy, and inclusive design across websites, applications, and initiatives. With categories spanning corporate, government, education, and not-for-profit sectors, the Awards are a vital opportunity to spotlight excellence in access and inclusion.
As such, we encourage our community to submit nominations now for any deserving organisation or individual in the following categories:
- Corporate Website of the Year
- Government Website of the Year
- Educational Website of the Year
- Not-for-profit Website of the Year
- Corporate App of the Year
- Government App of the Year
- Educational App of the Year
- Not-for-profit App of the Year
- Accessibility Initiative of the Year
- Accessibility Person of the Year (Hall of Fame)
